Remember those lace-less Nike sneakers in the movie “Back To The Future 2″? Many fans have created custom-made versions of Nike Mag, but Nike has finally come up with the official, limited-edition Nike Mag sneakers that will be sold on eBay.
The 2011 Nike Mag features tri-color lights and the electroluminescent Nike logo that are reminiscent of the kickers we saw at the movies. However, these Mags (sadly) do not auto-lace and there are subtle changes in the design from the original, which is likely for the sake of comfort.
Nike will only be making 1,500 pairs of 2011 Nike Mag, which will be auctioned on eBay. All net proceeds will be donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research. The auction starts September 8 and will run until September 18, in which 150 pairs will be made available per day on eBay’s Fashion Vault. Mr. Fox, who wore the sneakers in the iconic movie, has presented a pair of Mags during his appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
