The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is coming to replace the original tablet of this Korean manufacturer. It's been a year since the first Galaxy Tab was announced so the time is right for the new platform with a dual-core processor, excellent screen (same as in the flagship phone SGS II), lots of memory, SIM support (including phone functionality). Galaxy Tab 7.7 inherited all the features of the original and brings a pack of new ones.
The tablet looks just as any other tablet: large screen, thin body. And it does not resemble Apple iPad 2, no associations at all. The back panel is metal with a vertical pattern except for the upper and lower parts that cover the antennae.The whole tablet is very light and slim: weight is just 335g and size is 196,7 x 133 x 7.89 mm respectively. But what sounds even more amazing is that Samsung engineers managed to integrate a 5100 mAh battery to this slim case!
The heart and soul of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a new dual-core 1.4Ghz ARM Cortex A9 processor and Mali 400MP video adapter that makes a key difference between new chip and Tegra 2 platform powered by NVIDIA Geforce video adapter.
Connectivity options are presented with Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0 as well as 4G that works in HSPA+ networks allowing up to 21 Mbps data transfer. Thanks to infra-red port and preinstalled software, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 can turn into universal remote control for your TV, video and audio systems.
All in all, it looks like Samsung managed to create a potential best-seller that might eat the huge piece of the pie in the rapidly growing tablet market.
